It never ceases to amaze us the broad and diverse uses that can be achieved with preserved goods. Whether you like your cocktails fruity & refreshing, or sour, or spicy--so many flavor combinations can be achieved with the addition of fruity preserves or even pickle brine & garnishes. Below our a few of our favorite recipes using our favorite Copper Pot & Wooden Spoon jams & pickles.
BOURBON BLUEBERRY FIZZ
2.5 oz Kentucky Bourbon, (we like Bulleit or Eagle Rare)
1 Tbsp Blueberry Jam
2 oz Lemon Pellegrino (or Club Soda with a dash of lemon juice)
Fresh Basil to Garnish
PICKLED RAMP or SPICY JALAPENO BLOODY MARY
Pickled Wild Ramps (a coveted Appalachian Spring Onion) and brine add an incredible twist to this much loved classic.
1 oz Pickled Ramp or Honey Pickled Jalapeno Brine
4 oz Tomato Juice
2.5 oz Vodka
Garnish with Pickled Ramps, Honey Jalapenos, Dilly Beans, or Pickled Okra (or all of the above!)
DIRTY PICKLE MARTINI
Simply replace the olives in your martini with your favorite pickled veggie, and add a dash of pickle juice.
4 oz Gin or Vodka
2 oz pickle juice
1 oz dry vermouth
Dill Pickles or Dilly Beans for Garnish
Shake with ice and strain into chilled glass.
PEACH SHINE SPRITZER
1 oz Moonshine
2 oz White Wine
1 oz Peach Shine Jam
2 oz Lemon Pellegrino (or Club Soda with a splash of Lemon Juice)
Shake or stir to combine, strain if desired, pour into glass and enjoy!
SPICED APPLE DARK & STORMY
2 oz Dark Rum (Zaya is nice, or whiskey works nicely too)
1 oz Spiced Apple Beer Jam
3 oz Ginger Beer
Orange Twist Garnish
Shake with ice, strain if desired, pour into glass and garnish with Orange twist.
